Upcoming Q & A Session on Tattoo Removal

We just got back from a trip to Rapid City, SD.  Stopped in at Thrash’s Tattoo, just to say hello.  Quite enjoyed visiting with Kevin, Ruth, and Loren; we were suitably impressed.  From there we ran across town to Matt Thrash’s other shop, Wild Idea.  Both shops are immaculate.  No bad vibes whatsoever.

So the main reason for the trip, we’ve had quite a few challenging cover-up requests over the years, and we wanted to check out their laser tattoo removal options for our clients.  At Wild Idea, we were greeted by their “laser-lady”, Colleen, and had tons of questions answered.  She gave us a tour of the shop and showed us the laser equipment.

Turns out, Colleen is from Dickinson–small world!  She tells us that she’s going to be coming up again soon to see family and would be more than happy to stop at our shop and do a Q & A session on tattoo removal.  Why, you may ask, is a tattoo shop promoting tattoo removal??  Because sometimes bad tattoos are just not “coverable”.  Laser removal can lighten up–or completely remove– a bad tattoo and open up more options for the artist to clean up or re-create your work.

This informational session will be open to artists and the general public.  We will post the details as soon as we have ‘em!

GUMC’s annual run & party

Our 9th year as part of the “entertainment” at the Glen Ullin Motorcycle Club’s annual Memorial Day run.   Kirk paints all evening and the GUMC auctions  the final artwork.  The weather wasn’t very pleasant, and many of the riders left after the ride to continue the flood fight in Bismarck.  But, those of us who stuck around had a great time as always….

Open House held on May 20th

On May 20th, In the Flesh & BassAckward Studios Tattoo hosted an Open House at our new location. Despite the cold and rainy weather, we had a pretty decent turnout throughout the day.  Gotta thank everyone who came in and checked out the new place and enjoyed a nice piece of ass-cake.  Yeah, the big-ass tattoo cake was the butt of many jokes and the center piece for many ridiculous photos.  All in good fun!
